One of the best things about Christmas when I was a child was the cheap Advent calendar my mom used to buy. They were basically cardboard boxes with perforated doors that would open each day to reveal a piece of chocolate - and taunt you with the knowledge that behind all the rest of doors were chocolates you couldn't eat yet. What was great about them was that with each delicious piece of candy that I ate, Christmas morning was one day closer.
My mom doesn't buy me Chocolate Advent calendars any more, but it's still fun to countdown to Christmas. This year I'm going to anticipate the holiday with a new blog feature - one post about Christmas every day for 25 Days. Over the next few weeks, you'll get some insights into my childhood memories, learn my favorite recipes, and read some special holiday-edition Top 5 lists.
Can you believe there are only 24 days left until Christmas??
