To Blog or Not to Blog?

It's my turn to write for the staff blog again - I decided to be meta and blog about blogging and then post it on my blog. So here you go!

Recently, a co-worker of mine asked me about my personal blog. She has been thinking about starting her own blog, and wanted my thoughts. My resounding answer? Go for it!

I’m a huge proponent of blogs, and encourage everyone with even the slightest creative bent to start their own. I’ve been blogging on and off since I was in high school and it has been a great way for me to flex my creative writing muscles. (I’ll spare you the cringing and not share my teenage blog.)

Do Something Impressive This November

It's that time again - check out my newest post on my office's Staff Blog!

For most people, November isn’t the most exciting month. Sure, it has Thanksgiving and Black Friday, which are both fun, but the entire month kind of feels like a stepping stone to Christmas. Halloween has passed and in just a few weeks, stores will be hanging garland and slipping holiday songs into their music rotation. Next thing you know, you’ll be eating turkey, buying wrapping paper, and watching the same holiday specials that have been on every year since your parents were children.
Personally, I love November – although I may be a little biased because birthday is in this month! Aside from that, I love that November is the month selected by some great groups to get people to do something impressive with their lives.

The Spinning Rainbow Wheel

It's my turn to write for the office staff blog again! Here's an excerpt from my post:

It happens to everyone. One minute you’re working diligently at your computer – typing, researching, editing or whatever it is that you do at work – but then you click to save or open something and out of nowhere comes that sinister little rainbow wheel. It spins and spins nonchalantly while you are forced to sit and wait until it’s finished, anxiously watching the clock. After an eternity-long 30 seconds passes, your file is finally ready and you’re already contemplating whether an upgrade to the newest, fastest operating system is worth the money, all because of that annoying little wait cursor.
